I don’t think I have ever heard of this car before today. It is a very very good looking coupe. It was sold in the US from 1982-1988 apparently. (Global Production 1982-1990) I can find only 1 on craigslist via searchtempest.

Apparently in Japan they did a GSR version with 4WD (same engine as the turbo).

It looks better in grey with four spokes, than red

That actually was a world car, we had it in Europe as well. Not just Turbos. Also an extra-slow 1.6 Automatic.
75hp and 116Nm! With a 3-speed auto!!!

Search Tempest is the work of the devil. I spend hours at work looking at old cars on the other side of the country.

I prefer the 4 spoke wheels, but I prefer the red and the grill design on the red car as well.

That sounds extra slow. I was looking up the acceleration times. I am guessing that is the 0-60 mph time of 13.4 seconds.

I agree. This morning I found a gorgeous Lancia Scorpion in New Jersey. I will find something I want and is a great price it is just on the other side of the country.

Growing up in SoCal, one of my neighbors was a VP at Mitsubishi when they started selling in the US, and I’d always go over and check out the new and interesting vehicles he brought home (although my favorite vehicle of theirs was their Vanagon Westfalia camper...)
Years later, in the mid-90s, I had a neighbor that had a beat to shit, non-running Cordia sitting in the carport. I had the end spot, so I didn’t mind their wreck being parked there because I didn’t have to worry about door dings. Later, after they moved, an assortment of new neighbors beat the shit out of the side of my E34 thanks to careless door opening. Fuck those mother-fucking fuckers...

the 80s ruined so many cars that were otherwise rather good looking by forcing shitty lights or bumpers
